Update the whole UML model from a Java project. To reverse engineer from an NetBeans project, right-click on the project node in NetBeans and select Update UML Model from the popup menu.
Once you have a simpleUML diagram active, you can use the command icons along the left side of the simpleUML window (they have tool-tips to explain the iconography). Models of the selected project, child packages and classes will be created (if the models are not already exists) or updated. You can select that command to get either the latest simpleUML window or, if there none, a new blank in which you can open simpleUML diagrams you saved earlier. Select that command and simpleUML will create a default class diagram including those classes and will open a window to show them.Īlternately, you'll notice that in the Windows -> Tool Windows submenu is an entry for simpleUML. FYI, in my testing, Java 8 can start Netbeans Java 11 cannot and since Java 9 and 10 are end-of-supported, I cannot test them. The main difference between the plug-in (SDE) and the standalone (VP-UML) is where you do the UML editing in the VP tool, or your IDE.
